STRABISMUS (SQUINT SURGERY)

Strabismus can be corrected with surgery to the muscles that move the eyes.

In children it is important to find and correct any errors and focus and to treat and prevent a lazy eye (amblyopia or blunted vision).

In adults, strabismus may develop after trauma or result from a decompensation of childhood strabismus.

Sally-Anne Herring is our graduate Orthoptist. She specialises in testing and improving eye sight in children, and assessing and managing eye movement disorders in children and adults. John Beaumont has extensive experience in strabismus surgery. He has presented a 15 year audit of his cases to his colleagues.

Strabismus and amblyopia is always challenging to understand John Beaumont and Sally-Anne emphasise clear explanations and full discussion of the condition and its management.
